What is a HIV test certificate?
A HIV Test Certificate is sometimes requested by organisations seeking confirmation of your (often negative) HIV status.
Along with your result, the certificate will confirm the following:
- Your name
- Your passport number, date of birth and the date your passport was issued
- Your Unique ID Number
- Details of when your sample was collected
This document can be used for official purposes, including:
- Long term travel visas
- Work visas (esp. when your job may expose you to blood)
- Resident permits
Can I get a HIV certificate for a home test?
Unfortunately, without being able to verify your identity we cannot provide you a certificate of your test results.

Will I require a HIV certificate for a holiday?
It is unlikely that you will require a HIV test certificate for a short holiday. Typically, a certificate is needed for seeking a work or residence visa.
However, in some countries you may be prohibited entry/deported if they find out that you are HIV positive.
