Before the appointment
How can I prepare for my Drop & Go appointment?
For male patients, we recommend avoiding passing urine for 1-2 hours before your appointment. This is to ensure that you are able to pass urine when you visit the clinic and that we can get a better quality sample.
For female patients, there is no specific action that you need to perform before your visit.
Can I bring someone with me?
Yes. You can bring your partner, friend or family member to your appointment.
However, if you feel that you would rather not bring someone to the appointment, rest assured that our staff are here to support you and make you comfortable in any way possible. Clarewell Clinics is a safe space.
What travel arrangements should I make for after the appointment?
You do not need to make any special arrangements for after your procedure. However, if you would feel more comfortable, you may request a family member/friend/partner to accompany you on the way home.
During the appointment
If I am experiencing symptoms, will I be able to receive a physical examination?
The Drop & Go service is not designed for those experiencing symptoms.
In this case, we recommend booking in for a consultation where you can receive a physical examination and discuss your symptoms (inc. the right tests and treatments).
If I decide I want more/less tests in the appointment, will I be able to do this?
Yes. The choice is yours.
If you find that you need to discuss exactly which tests you require, we would recommend that you book a consultation as the Drop & Go service is designed for those who know exactly what tests they need.
After the appointment
When will I get my test results?
You will get your results within 4 hours (except for Mycoplasma genitalium which takes 4 working days).
What if my test results are positive?
If your test has come back positive, we will ask you to come in to receive treatment.
What if I want to discuss the results of my Drop & Go appointment?
We would be able to offer you a consultation whereby you can discuss your test results and any questions that you may have. Please note that this is charged separately.
