Journey Overview
#1 Pre-Appointment Questionnaire
To ensure enough time to discuss any questions or concerns, we ask you to fill out a simple questionnaire before your appointment.
#2 Consultation
We will begin by assessing your medical & sexual history, any symptoms you may be experiencing and discuss any questions you may have.
If you want to skip the consultation and just have the test, you can try our Drop & Go service, which removes the consultation fee.
#3 Sample Collection
If it is still appropriate to proceed with the Chlamydia test, we will take the appropriate sample.
#4 Receive Results (Same Day)
Your Chlamydia test results are available within 4 hours. You can receive your results by either text or a secure email.
#5 Aftercare
- Avoid having sex whilst you wait for your results.
- If tested before the window period, a negative result is not conclusive, and retesting is needed. If after the window period, a negative result is conclusive.
- A positive result means you are conclusively positive and should begin treatment. You will be prescribed a 7-day course of antibiotic treatment, which must be completed as instructed.
- You are strongly advised to inform your current and any sexual partner(s) from the last 6 months to get tested and treated.
- If symptoms persist after treatment, a test of cure might be recommended after 4 weeks.

FAQs
A Chlamydia test is done using a high vaginal swab in women, or a urine sample in men. Both men and women are able to have an additional oral or rectal swab, depending on if it is appropriate.
The test is run using PCR technology to test for the presence of the infection.
You should get tested for Chlamydia if:
- You are experiencing symptoms, or have known exposure (such as being a close contact of someone recently infected with Chlamydia).
- You are pregnant or looking to become pregnant.
- You have had unprotected sex with a new partner who has not been recently tested.
- You have multiple partners or change your partners frequently.
- You or your partner have had unprotected sex with another person.
A physical examination may be recommended if you are presenting symptoms.
It is important to remember that physical examinations will only go ahead with your consent, and you are able to have a chaperone in the room to make you feel comfortable.
- Try to remember (as much as possible) the details of why you are visiting. For example, if you are showing symptoms, try to remember when these started and the potential cause of exposure.

Yes. Chlamydia is a very easy infection to pass on so we strongly advise that you inform your current partner(s) to be treated and tested. It is also advised that you inform any other sexual partner(s) from the last 6 months that you have the infection, so that these people can also get tested and treated. This breaks the chain of infection and prevents it from spreading to others.
