Contraceptive Coils

Contraceptive coils, also known as Intrauterine Devices (IUDs) or Intrauterine Systems (IUSs), are highly effective and long-acting reversible birth control methods. These small, T-shaped devices are inserted into the uterus by a healthcare professional and can provide pregnancy prevention for several years. There are two main types: copper coils, which are hormone-free, and hormonal coils (like Mirena), which release progestogen. Both types offer discreet and convenient contraception, eliminating the need for daily pills or frequent applications, and fertility quickly returns after removal.
