In this guide, we’ll explore the cost of a private vasectomy in the UK, what factors influence these costs, and how the process works if you decide to go down this route. Let’s dive in so you have a clear understanding of what to expect financially and practically.

What is the Cost of a Private Vasectomy in the UK?

The cost of a private vasectomy in the UK generally ranges from £500 to £1,500. This variation depends on several factors, including the clinic you choose, the type of procedure offered, and the location. Prices can differ between regions and even among clinics within the same city. Below, we’ll break down these factors to give you a clearer picture of what contributes to the cost.

What Do You Get for the Cost of a Private Vasectomy?

The price of a private vasectomy typically covers:

Consultation

Our consultation fee is £150. For those having the consultation and procedure on the same day, the cost is included in the procedure. For those who want to discuss the procedure a little more with our specialists, you may wish to book an additional consultation before your procedure.

Procedure

The surgical vasectomy itself, performed under local anaesthetic. This involves blocking or cutting the vas deferens, the tubes that carry sperm.

Local Anaesthesia

Numbing medication is used to ensure comfort during the procedure.

Post Vasectomy Semen Analysis

We include one post vasectomy semen analysis in the cost of the procedure – this can be done at either 12 weeks or 16 weeks.

Follow-Up Care

For those requesting a follow up call after their appointment, there is no additional charge. In the event that you want to come in and discuss things further, the consultation fee of £150 applies.

Before committing to any clinic, it’s a good idea to check whether all these components are included in the quoted price.

Concluding Remarks

Choosing a private vasectomy in the UK can be a practical and convenient option, especially if you’re looking for flexibility, comfort, and reduced waiting times. Before going forward, make sure to have an open discussion with your healthcare provider about your options, as well as the benefits and potential risks of the procedure. A vasectomy is a significant, though reversible, decision that should be made with thorough consideration of your long-term family planning goals.

If you decide that a private vasectomy is the best choice for you, taking the time to research different clinics, inquire about hidden fees, and understand your options for financing can help ensure you get the best care possible for your money. Remember, the right choice is ultimately the one that best suits your personal circumstances and health needs.

Missed appointment/late cancellation

In the event that you are unable to attend your appointment or you change your mind, we politely request that you give us at least 24 hours notice if you are unable to attend. This is so we may offer the appointment to another patient.

If you missed your appointment (or cancelled within 24 hours), we will charge a £60 fee to cover the cost of a standard consultation before we offer you a second appointment.

We thank you for understanding the reasons for this policy and please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.
